We finally switched on the free wifi down on the Wellington waterfront today. If you live in or are visiting the capital, you should definitely come on down and try it out. Here's the release sent out today letting everyone know all about it.
Visitors to the waterfront in New Zealand’s capital will enjoy fast and free wireless internet access from today, thanks to a joint effort from Trade Me and Wellington City Council.
The free wifi network went live this morning, beaming from access points on The NZX Centre and Te Papa. It covers the area south from Frank Kitts Lagoon and along the waterfront side of Te Papa. More...
We had an issue on the site this morning between 11:00 and 11:40 where some people were unable to ask questions or bid on items. We have now fixed the problem and have extended all auctions that were due to close between 11:00 and 12:00 by two hours.
Apologies for the inconvenience.
The Herald on Sunday today published an inaccurate article about our upcoming success fee changes.
We want to reassure members that the Herald have many of their numbers wrong today – for example, the commission on a $1000 sale will go from $48.60 to $51.00, not to $118.50 as claimed in the article. Likewise, the claims about fees for items between $200 to $1500 are all inflated and inaccurate. It also casts some doubt on the accuracy of the poll they are running alongside the story online.
We’re pretty surprised by this article. The Herald is known for its standards, but this was shoddy reporting – the numbers were wrong and they didn't check them with us first. It was also disappointing that the article pushed a competing site without disclosing that the Herald’s parent company owns half of it. More...
We wanted to give you a heads up that as of 7 February, we are making a few changes to our success fees and our Top Seller programme.
First of all, we’re increasing our Top Seller discount on all auction fees (including extras) to 15%. That’s an increase from the previous 10% discount.
We’re also including more traders in our Top Seller programme. From 7 February, you may qualify over the standard six-week period if you sell 60 or more items or $10,000 of items (the existing sell-through rate and feedback criteria still apply). More...
Due to Wellington Anniversary on Monday 24th January, there will be a delay in the processing of Pay Now payments. These payments will instead be made on Tuesday night. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
