Just a little heads up from us that we are planning on launching a new “services” category on Trade Me at the end of August. This will be a place where small businesses can cost-effectively advertise their services. On the consumer side, Kiwis will be able to search for local businesses, as well as deliver and review the businesses’ feedback.
We are teaming up with NoCowboys, a services-focused website. As well as working with us to build listings in the services category, the NoCowboys team will also be involved in a range of other activities with Trade Me, including a role as the exclusive third party reseller for the category. Today, NoCowboys is contacting all its existing clients to let them know about the partnership.
“Services” will be a new category on the Trade Me homepage, and will sit in-between “Real estate” and “Sports”. It won’t be a separate vertical like Trade Me Motors, Trade Me Jobs and Trade Me Property. More...
Trade Me is going to be unavailable between 2am and 5am tomorrow morning while we do some scheduled maintenance and upgrades. All auctions that are due to close between 2am and 6am will be extended by four hours. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
Post Haste has launched a new service called Pass the Parcel, which offers new packaging and shipping options for Trade Me sellers. Now you can order packaging and arrange delivery online!
Here’s how it works:
From 11:10am through until 11:20am, the Trade Me home page was unavailable. We worked out what went wrong and we have fixed it.
All auctions that were to close between 11:10am and 12:10pm have had their closing times extended by 1 hour.
Last Tuesday (20 July) we held a Free Gallery Day as a way to apologise for a muck-up we made back in May - lots and lots of people took advantage of it.
The majority of the freebie Gallery listings will be coming up for relist tomorrow (27 July). For anyone who took advantage of that offer, this is just a friendly reminder that when any unsold items come up for relist, you will need to pay to keep the Gallery feature on. If you want Gallery removed from your listings, please remove the tick from the Gallery box on the Extras page.
We don’t want anyone to get surprised when they see this fee charged.
