Push notification delays - update

Our push notifications have been sending normally for a while now, but we hit some further issues with auctions taking far too long to close. Things are now back to normal, and we're sorry for the frustration and inconvenience this has caused for some of our members.

We’re aware that some push notifications to Android and iPhone devices are having issues with delivery, with some being delayed by several minutes. Our team are working to get this sorted as quickly as possible and we’re sorry this has happened a second night running. Once we know things are back to normal we’ll post an update to this announcement.

Auctions closing and push notification issues

Resolved - all push notifications are now sending normally and all auctions that were not closing properly were closed by 10:15pm. Again, we're sorry for the disruption this would have caused.

We are currently experiencing issues with the delivery of push notifications to mobile devices and with the closing of auctions. All auctions should be closed soon as there is a bit of catch up to be done but unfortunately there may be some ongoing issues with Android and Apple notifications.

Once we have the issue with push notifications sorted we'll post an update to this site announcement. More...

Scheduled maintenance

Trade Me will be unavailable on Saturday, 18 February between 2:00 am and 5:00 am for scheduled maintenance.
All auctions that are due to close between 2:00 am and 5:00 am will be extended by four hours.

Ability to list in a second category

Since the end of last year we’ve been trialling a new product that allows you to list some Marketplace items in a second category. The trial went well, so from today this product is available to 100% of members on the desktop site for $0.99.

The ability to list an item in two categories means you can get it in front of more potential buyers. For example, an art deco chair can now be listed in Antiques & collectables > Art deco & retro > Furniture, and Home & living > Lounge, dining & hall > Chairs at the same time.

Plus, if you buy a promotional extra like Gallery or Feature Combo, it will be applied to the listing in the second category for no extra charge.  More...

Buyer Protection - we’ve got your back

We launched a new initiative today for Trade Me members called Buyer Protection.

If you buy an item on Trade Me Marketplace using our card payment system, and it doesn’t arrive or isn’t as described, we can refund your money*.
